Got my first comment from a hater...
Fully funded in 24 hours! With, a hater.
I'm super sensitive.
And, who wouldn't be putting your passion project out there for so many to see?
So, when I got a message from a hater online, my first reaction was a gut punch:
I took a deep breath, collected my thoughts, and wrote this in response:
I screenshotted this dialogue to my former client who has since become a colleague. She's a fellow founder, marketing agency owner, mother, and kick-ass human who wrote:
This tells me you are on the right path. These types of roadblocks show up to try to keep you from moving forward because those negative energies are feeding off you. And this stops them, which they hate. Your answer was perfect.

People who can put things in perspective.
People who cheer you on.
People who believe in you and your purpose.
In fact, within 6 hours of launch, my Kickstarter campaign for How to Disappoint Your Parents in 10 Shameless Steps: A Modern Asian-American Guide became a Kickstarter Project We Love.

Here's where we stand right now:
80 backers.
57 days to go to reach our stretch goals.
Thanks to your incredible support, we can now print 500 paperback books!!
Now, it's time to achieve the next tiers:
$10,500: Hire a Top-Tier Editor

$25,500: 10-Part Podcast Series
$35,000: Multi-City Book Tour

Remember, if you're pursuing an unconventional path, there are others who won't get it.
If you're a truth-teller, there are also others who won't like it.
As my upcoming podcast guest, Nicole F. Smith, shared: "If I'm too much, you need to go find less, because this is who I am."
With love and gratitude,
