Love has another name. (And it powers my life and business.)

"Understanding is the best gift you can give to someone."

Buenas tardes from Mexico!

We're here on a surf trip with 12 adults and 14 kids. (Yep, we took over an entire property and it's awesome.)

In between long paddle outs, I've been working — interviewing new junior copywriters to add to our team as we promote our lead writer to guide them. During the last interview, which I took in my bathing suit, the bright pink-haired candidate shared a quote from Zen Buddhist teacher, Thich Nhat Hanh:

Understanding someone's suffering is the best gift you can give another person.

Understanding is love's other name.

If you don't understand, you can't love.

It got me thinking about how much this is exactly what I've been seeking in my life, why I'm an authentic writer, and why our branding and marketing agency is different...

We not only endeavor to understand a client; we also fully understand our founders.

We know where they're aiming to get to, where they've been, because that's precisely the journey I've been on, too.

The copywriter interviews have been amazing. To see so much pure talent ready to create human-powered content and to hear why Wild Hearted Words has stuck out to them from the second they filled out our application form?

That's branding.

Do it well, and you create raving fans.

Do it with emotion and heart, and you create lifelong advocates.

One of the best parts about growing my company has been how connected we are to our clients. They know how much care we put into generating the results they want to see, and because of it?

Well, they continue to refer us onward.

Because being understood like this is love's other name.

And, it's something I hope everyone experiences with the work they do and with the life they life.

Off to catch some waves,

Judy
