After a crappy night of sleep... this.

"Keep going — your win is coming."

I had a terrible night of sleep last night...

Tossing. Turning. Feelings of anxiety. Thinking too much.

Does that happen to you, too? (Does it happen even more now if you're going through perimenopause? Or, when you've had a glass of wine and/or an Old Fashioned?)

We give our brains too much power.

We forget that we are a bundle of cells, hormones, processes of digestion and purification, blood, and more.

We forget that the brain is the servant to the heart — and not the other way around.

The lulls are natural and that not every moment is a go-go-go opportunity!

When our moods shift because we get "hangry," for instance, we make a judgment about ourselves.

What's wrong with me? tends to be the refrain.

Then, we eat.
Then, we are okay.
Then, we realize it wasn't anything more than the fact that we needed a meal.

I'm here to tell you:

Nothing is wrong with you.

And, you can feel even more right when you're aligned with your purpose.

Your purpose rising to the surface may come slowly.
Your purpose may need outside guidance to draw it out.
Your purpose may be evolving.
Your purpose may require a little introspection — or you may already be ready.

For me, a big part of my purpose came to life when my team nudged me while in a recent lull:

"It's time to redesign our brand."

They also said, "It's time that you build your personal brand, too."

I knew they were right.

Yet, it wasn't until I worked with them to understand how we wanted to grow as a team and as a company that it simultaneously became clear how I wanted to build my presence. It also wasn't until I worked with our designer, encouraging him to bring his gifts to light through visual storytelling, that I finally saw myself completely.

"Oh," I almost gasped. "That's ME."

I needed THEM to help me find ME.

When I thanked my designer for his work, he said that honestly? A lot of the site's essence came from the photography.

"Good job to you," he said. The photoshoot lasted less than an hour. The images captured me feeling effortless, confident, and exuding a sense of having arrived within myself.

Then, when I saw the Kickstarter video for my book that I recently filmed too (I'll reveal soon), I could not have been more grateful that these myriad pieces I've worked on for years are coming together so beautifully:

My company.
My team.
My coaching.
My passion.
My community.

The lulls? Here are the wins they've led to in just the last week:

✔ I've been selected as a 2024 Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Cohort that'll culminate in a visit to their New York Headquarters.

✔ I've been nominated for the San Diego Magazine 2024 Celebrating Women Award!

✔ I'm close to launching my Kickstarter for How to Disappoint Your Parents in 10 Shameless Steps: A Modern Asian American Guide with endorsements from notable personalities in the AANHPI community.

See the lulls from a different angle.

See if someone else can help you draw out what you want to do, say, or even how you want to be.

Know that we all go through the slow times. A lot of it just isn't shared about on social media.

Know that we also all make up stories that aren't real. And, if that's the case? Might as well write yourself as the heroine or the hero of that chapter.

If you need support and that outside perspective, schedule a complimentary 30-min coaching intro call with me here.

Judy
